Casa Oraya

began with an encounter.

Casa Oraya began around an encounter with plant medicine and a desire to create spaces where it could be approached with respect, discernment, attention and responsibility.

Over time, the project grew into something broader: a way of slowing down, entering into relationship with the body, the living world, other people and place — and giving experience time to find its place in everyday life.

Medicine

An experience may open a perception, an emotion, a memory, a sensation or a new way of seeing.

What happens is also shaped by relationship — to the body, to others, to place, to the living world, and to those who accompany the experience.

Relationship

What is lived during a retreat may continue to unfold afterwards, through time, discernment, everyday life and the choices that follow.

Integration

The frame matters.

An experience is also shaped by the conditions around it. Preparation, small groups, consent, individual attention and integration are part of how Casa Oraya holds the space.

Questions, doubt and hesitation are part of discernment — they do not need to be overcome.

At Casa Oraya, accompaniment begins with presence and listening.
We pay attention without deciding what an experience should mean for someone else.

Support takes shape in response to what each person expresses and needs, with space for autonomy, questions and their own rhythm.

When useful, we may share reflections or elements of our own experience — always with the same intention: to accompany without taking the place of the person living the experience.

A way of accompanying

A bridge built through relationships

Each place keeps its own voice

Casa Oraya pays attention to the places that hold each experience — their light, materials, landscape, rhythm and simplicity.

A place does not create change by itself. But it can support rest, attention, slowing down and the feeling of being received. Each retreat is therefore allowed to remain rooted in its own environment, rather than being made to resemble another.

Different roots, shared encounters.

Casa Oraya is shaped by encounters with people, families and places whose histories, knowledge and practices remain their own. We do not try to merge these different worlds into a single tradition, nor to borrow an identity that is not ours. What matters is the relationship itself — the time spent together, the listening, the exchange, and the respect for the context each person comes from.

These encounters can change the way we look at our own lives. Spending time with people who relate differently to land, family, work, community or the passing of time can open new questions, without turning their way of living into an ideal or a model to copy. The value lies in meeting what is different without needing to absorb it.

Casa Oraya grows through these relationships, while each person, place and practice keeps its own voice. What is shared is not a single culture or belief system, but the possibility of meeting one another with attention, curiosity and respect.
