Spain — with Mauricio.

An intimate retreat shaped by medicine, presence, and wisdom shared from Colombia.

When the songs begin

His voice enters the experience gently, and little by little, something shifts.

The body may soften, feel heavier or lighter, warmer, more alive. A sensation moves. An emotion rises. A memory passes through. The light, the air, the sounds, the landscape remain present, while your perception of them begins to change.

The icaros carry the experience further.

Sometimes into a sensation. Sometimes into an image, a memory, or a place that has no words yet. At other moments, there is simply contemplation — the feeling of being completely present to what is unfolding.

Sometimes the journey feels vast.
Sometimes extraordinarily quiet.

As the vibration of the songs grows, the boundary between what is happening within you and what surrounds you can begin to soften.

What you feel seems to resonate with the world around you. The air, the light, the sounds, the body — little by little, they no longer feel entirely separate.

Inside becomes outside. Outside becomes inside.

For a moment, everything belongs to the same experience.

And you are not alone in it

From the moment you arrive on Thursday, I am there too — moving through the group, paying attention, checking in quietly, listening when something needs to be spoken, and sometimes simply staying close.

During the ceremonies, I may come to see how you are, sit beside you for a moment, offer a few words, or give you the space you need.

Afterwards, there is always time to talk, to make sense of what has moved, or simply to be heard without having to explain everything immediately.

This attention continues throughout the retreat — through the ceremonies, the meals, the pauses, the conversations and the quieter moments in between, all the way until we leave on Sunday.

Beyond the ceremony

Later, the rhythm changes.

There may be food on the table. Someone laughs. A conversation begins and moves naturally from plants to family, from Colombia to life, from something very ordinary to a question that stays with you.

This too is part of the retreat.

You begin to understand something of Mauricio’s relationship with the medicine not because he explains it to you, but because you spend time beside him. It appears in the way he speaks about the plants he grows, in the patience with which they are prepared, in the care with which the medicine is cooked and served, and in the stories he carries from Colombia.

And slowly, almost without noticing when it happened, what began during the ceremony starts to find its way into the rest of the experience.

The frame

The retreat begins before the medicine is served. From the moment you arrive, time is given to settle, meet the group, ask questions and enter the experience at your own rhythm.

Throughout the four days, attention is given to each person individually — during ceremonies, in the moments afterwards, and in the quieter spaces in between.

Consent, boundaries and communication remain part of the experience throughout. Nothing needs to be forced, and there is always space to speak, pause or ask for support.

What is lived during the ceremonies is then given time to settle through rest, conversation, reflection and integration.
